Vulvar Varicose Veins: Causes, Pregnancy, and Treatment
Vulvar varicose veins affect up to 1 in 10 pregnant women and usually regress within about 3 months after delivery — during pregnancy, management is supportive (support garments, elevation, cold compresses). Veins that persist are evaluated with a duplex ultrasound and treated with sclerotherapy, or ovarian vein embolization when the source is pelvic reflux — catheter-based, no incisions, same-day discharge.
