About Dr. Aronhime

Dr. Shimon Aronhime is an Interventional Radiologist and Endovascular Surgeon with subspecialty expertise in minimally invasive vein treatment. He is the founder of Israel Vein Center — one of the first clinics in Israel dedicated exclusively to varicose vein and venous insufficiency treatment — and serves as a senior interventional radiologist at Shamir Medical Center (Asaf Harofeh), where he performs EVLA procedures for kupat holim patients via tofes 17.

Dr. Aronhime trained in New York at two of the premier academic medical centres in the United States, bringing world-class interventional radiology expertise to Israeli patients. Why Choose an Interventional Radiologist for Vein Treatment?

Interventional radiologists are trained from the outset of their specialty in image-guided, catheter-based, minimally invasive procedures. Duplex ultrasound, vascular imaging, and thermal ablation are core IR competencies — not add-ons to a surgical practice.

This means:

  • The same physician who reads your ultrasound performs your treatment — no fragmentation of care
  • Image-guidance is second nature, not a skill added to a surgical background
  • Procedure volumes for EVLA, RFA, and VenaSeal in a dedicated vein IR practice are typically the highest available
  • Complication management (should any arise) is handled in-house by someone who understands the vascular anatomy intimately

Patient Philosophy

“My goal is to give every patient the same consultation I would give a family member — an honest, thorough assessment with the full picture, and a treatment plan that matches their individual anatomy, lifestyle, and insurance coverage. Varicose vein treatment has been transformed by minimally invasive techniques. There is virtually no reason for any patient today to undergo open surgical vein stripping.”
